One of the facets that has not been covered is the role of mainstream coverage of games, by big newspapers and organisations. As video games have become more popular, mainstream coverage of them has radically increased. However, mainstream publications play by different rules compared to the specialist games media. And at times, their portrayal of games can have negative effects.
